Koh Lanta Yai Island is located in the Krabi Province of southern Thailand.  It is one of 52 islands in an archipelago which is spread along the coast of the Andaman Sea.  Sea Gypsies are believed to have been the first to settle the Island hundreds of years ago bringing with them a tradition of sea living.  They are believed to  have originated from Urak Lawoi  in Indonesian Banda Aceh. The Island has become popular  with world class snorkeling and scuba diving as some of the major attractions
